Do you have a picture of the Sony speaker? How would it compare to the Alpine?

I'd like to know more about the sound deadening you installed, and where. I have a bunch of dyna mat hanging around that could be put to good use.

I've been looking at a set of Alpine componet sspeakers for my ST. How do they sound compared to the stock ? Did you do the fronts only or backs too?
also, do you have a wireing diagram for the ST's speakers you could pass along?

photo (38).JPGThese are what the stock speakers look like. I have an ST1 so no Sony but I would guess they are the same. The only difference is that the Sony system has an amp and sub. They are probably the same "stock" Ford speakers. These were 4 ohm speakers. This was the first stage of my sound upgrade. I bought a matching set of coax Alpine speakers for the rear doors. I also have a 5 channel Alpine PDXV-9 amp to run those speakers and an Alpine 10" type R flat woofer. I'm having a box custom made for the sub to go down in the spare tire area where the current foam storage is. Just changing the speakers made a noticeable difference but they will sound much better once I put the amp on them.

Yeah what he said. Howcome? And can you give a model number on the speakers for the front and back & what about the 2 tweeters in the corners of the window/door? Did you replace those as well?

I couldn't afford an ST2 as the main reason I wanted the 10 speaker Sony sound system. I'm not happy at all with the stock speakers the ST1 has.

Does that amp run just the back speakers or all 4 in all 4 doors front and back?

Component Speakers like he put in the front doors come with tweeters and mids. Mids go in the door and the tweeters go into the tweeter slots. Coaxials are usually mids with a attached tweeter. Not as crisp as components but def a upgrade and all you really need for rear speakers.

I am a big fan of Alpine and what they have been doing for years.

That amp is a 5 channel amp that makes very healthy power so I am going to assume he will dedicate 4 channels to the speakers and the 5th mono channel to the Sub. 4x100rms + 1x500rms.
