    Question Front license plate mount

Since my ST3 is due in a few days I wanted to check on the front license plate mount. I will tell my dealer not to mount it if it requires drilling into the front bumper. If it just clips on that's fine. I just wanted to get some clarification about how it mounts.

So in order to mount the front plate they need to drill holes? Well that settles that, no front plate for me until I get a new bracket.

Sho you mentioned getting a special bracket for your front plate, do you have a link or anything for where I can get one?

FYI - The holes are drilled into the grille, kind of in behind the honeycomb area. The honeycomb grille is not entirely all holes - part of it has a backer in it and that is what they drill into.

I had the dealer mount my front license plate - it doesn't bother me to have holes in my grill and I think it looks just fine. Kinda looks like the ST is eating my license plate.

I feel much more anxietly about getting rustproofing spray. I hate the fact that they need to drill holes in the body of the car, but I hate rust more so it's a necessary evil. Gah! Don't even like thinking about it.

I've thought about it and I've looked at the other mounts and I'm just going to let them mount it.

I'm having my hide a plate installed today after work. Will take photos of the bits and pieces that go into the mounting and how it looks installed.

Yeah, I'm slowly coming around to this reality. I may just drive without the front plate for as long as I can without getting a ticket, and then get the plate mounted. I really don't want to block any air flow to the intercooler, which is mounted very low on the car. If the hide-a-plate is mounted in the center, it appears to block the IC's airflow.

Existing holes or the dealer drills into the grille plastic?
